MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS Nursing Care Technology for Professional Longevity The article examines factors affecting healthcare workers’ professional longevity, i.e. the ability to practice longer and perform well over the years. Current Issues in Russian Healthcare as Seen by Nurses Patient-practitioner communication is a key area of research for medical sociology. The article presents study findings made by the author. NEWS FROM HEALTH WORKER ORGANISATIONS UNION This column is about the work of Russia’s largest professional association of nurses. Established in 2015, the Union of Health Worker Organisations (UHWO) brings together 170,000 medics from 35 professional associations. Association of Nurses of the Republic of Dagestan Established fairly recently in February 2017, the Dagestan Association of Nurses has a large membership and a track record of successfully organising republic-wide events such as training courses, professional contests, as well as involvement in the volunteer movement. Life’s Work What makes a person’s life meaningful is often their life’s work: the greater and more valuable their contribution, the more exciting their life story tends to be, making them a role model for others. CARE TECHNIQUES IAD, a Common Problem Affecting Incontinence Patients Incontinence-associated dermatitis (IAD) is a common but underdiagnosed pathology in the care of geriatric and seriously ill patients. This article provides a summary of IAD signs and symptoms to help nurses in assessing a patient’s risk of developing this condition.
