Primary flaking in the industry of the «KyzylAlma-2» site – the new archaeological site of the Upper Palaeolith of the Western Tien Shan. The fact of quantitative misbalance between the Middle and Upper Paleolithic sites in Central Asia has long been a focus of researchers’ attention. While the Middle Paleolithic sites are numerous in Central Asia (and in Uzbekistan in particular), the artefacts from the Upper Paleolithic era are scarce. Discovering and studying the new objects of the Upper Paleolith in the territory of Central Asia contributes a lot to solving the problems of occurrence and development of the Upper Paleolithic culture in the region. The article is devoted to preliminary results of studying the techniques of primary flaking found at the Kyzyl-Alma-2 site. It allows examining the development of technological traditions of lithic industry and correctly explaining the variability of all Paleolithic industries. Larichev, V.E. «The missing link» – Mesolithic Time (to the problem of keeping information traditions in cultures of the post Paleolithic epoch of Eurasia). Part I. Simple sources. Astroarchaeological researches of images, symbols and marks in the Upper Paleolithic art demonstrated considerable extent of natural scientific knowledge, accumulated by hunters and gatherers who inhabited places adjacent to the glacial zones of the continent (e.g. they created efficient time notation systems based on solar and lunar calendars). The article contains materials proving that previously acquired knowledge in astronomy and calendar was not lost in the postglacial epoch of the Stone Age (the Mesolithic) in the Old World. Dikova, M.A. The semantic version of «hair-made» figures in Traditions of Ancient Eskimo culture (Chukotka). The article deals with interpretation of some «hair-made» figures, which were found during archeological excavations of ancient Eskimo dwellings. These anthropomorphic figures existed only in ancient cultures of Chukotka. They are highly important for studying archaic (heathen) spiritual life of ancient Eskimos. The author offers his own semantic analysis of those unusual images and comes to conclusion that they were used in mortuary rituals. The author also makes an attempt to reconstruct the religious ideas of ancient Eskimo. Key words: «hair-made» figures, Ekven, Pajpelgak, «wineshop», burial ground, dwelling, anthropomorphous images. Matochkin, E.P. Petrogliphic composition from Kujgen-Kyshtu In this article a new petroglyphic material – rock paintings from (Mountain Altai). the early Scythian time of Kujgen-Kyshtu (Mountain Altai) is given. The author presents a composition with a rare image of the «horsegoat» found earlier in the Ðazyryk burial places. He discusses its semantic interrelation with other images of the composition and compares with images of a sanctuary of Komdosh-Boom locality devoted to sacrifices to a Solar Deity. The angular sites shown in the reconstructed model of the composition represent the results of observations over solar position during spring and autumn equinox as well as summer and winter solstice. Key words: petrogyiphs, «horse-goat», composition, sacrifice, equinox, solstice, ecliptic angle. Titiva, L.V. Old Believer Compilations of the XVIII Century and the Problem of Authorship. Based on the textual analysis of the two little known Old Believer compilations of the XVIII century («On the statement of true faith to be confirmed by the true believers» and «Conviction of wrong teachers and decievers». The author shows methods of the literary creative work of M. Andrejev who was an outstanding old believer and polemist of the first half of the XVIII century. Key words: Old Believers compilations, polemists, letter, statement of faith, textual analysis. Galiev, V.V. Aqsaqals’ Status in the Russian Consulates in Sintzyan (late XIX – early XX century). The article focuses on studying the status and activities of aqsaqals of the Russian consulates in Sintzyan. Analysis of the aqsaqals’ official and unofficial status resulted in the conclusion about their high position which can be placed on the same footing as the status of a vice-consul. Key words: Russian-Chinese relations, Sintzyan, consulates, aqsaqals. Vorontsova, I.V. Debates about Religious Consciousness between «Newchristians» and Marxists. The paper raises the question of religious consciousness on the materials of debates between the Marxists and religious reformers in 1907–1911. The author concludes that socio-political aspects of those debates during critical periods of history need further consideration and research. Key words: social-democrats, the updating of religious consciousness, neo-Christians. Khandorin, V.G. Evolution of the Siberian Constitutional Democrats’ Views on Local Government during the Period of Revolution and Civil War. The paper analyzes evolution of the Siberian Constitutional Democrats’ views on the local government in the period of Revolution and Civil War as well practical realization of these views. The author offers his own understanding of historical facts. Based on the materials of congresses and conferences of the party, its periodical press and archival documents the author explains why the Constitutional Democrats’ views shifted from democratic principles to the idea of strengthe

Siberian Army of Admiral A.V. Kolchak: organizational structure and recruitment (December, 1918 – July, 1919). The article deals with the White Siberian Army’s organizational structure and shows how recruitment for its units was organized. The author identifies a number of factors which led to the army’s defeat in its confrontation with the Soviet armed forces on the Eastern Front in the summer of 1919. Key words: Civil War, Siberian Army, mobilization, corps, division, regiment. Petrov S.G. From the History of the Orthodox Church Struggle against the Renovationism in the Russian Far East. The author analyzes previously unknown documents showing the struggle against the renovationism in the Russian Far East in first half of the 1920s. He investigates how the clergy and parishioners of the Innokentievsky cathedral of Khabarovsk opposed the revisionists; shows Moscow’s response to their protests. These documents demonstrate how the Orthodox believers perceived the realities of the Soviet life, and how deep was their understanding of the ongoing events. Commission of the Politburo of the CC AUCP(b) on Organization and Conducting the «Shakhty Trial» in 1928. The article introduces for scientific use the complex of written proceeding sources of the Politburo of the CC AUCP(b) that shows activities of the Commission created for preparing and conducting the Shachty Trial (March-July 1928). Protocols of the Commission sessions studied along with resolutions of the Politburo allow reconstructing the technology of making the most important decisions on the process organization. Registration and Information Department of the OGPU’s Plenipotentiary Representation in the Siberian Territory in 1929–1930: People and Deeds of the «Great Turn» Epoch. The article considers activities of the Siberian Territory OGPU’s registration and information department – one of the main OGPU departments during the period of the “Great Turn”. This department gathered political information, struggled against the peasant opposition to the regime. The paper analyzes the department’s structure, functions and staff; reviews the most typical political cases investigated by the department’s members in 1929–1930. Founder of the Institute of Hyndrodynamics (SB RAS): the 110th Anniversary of Academician M.A. Lavrentyev. The article deals with M.A. Lavrentyev’s activity on organization of a new scientific institute in Novosibirsk. The Institute of Hydrodynamics’ successful development was determined by the core ideas of combining the theoretical research with applied engineering, creating Гуманитарные науки в Ñèáèðè, ¹ 4, 2010 ã. a system of special-purpose multistage personnel training and organizing the new scientific schools. Changes in Organizational Structure of the Industrial Management in Eastern Siberia (1960s–1980s). The paper examines improvement of of the industrial management’s organizational structure in Eastern Siberia which was one of the goals of the 1965 economic reform. The reform resulted in concentration of industrial production, its co-operation as well as in establishing large-scale enterprises and industrial mergers, including production and research integration. The author shows interrelation of such problems in the past and in the present. Shmakov V.S. The modernization of Siberian village: summary and perspectives. The article reviews modern social and economical problems of development of Russia from the standpoint of modernization theory. Due to the system transformation the society faces different social, economical and cultural problems. Such transformation changes goals, methods and means of social system functioning, driving it into specific condition, forming specific consciousness and behavior, social adaptive reactions, creating new social phenomena. Problems of Social Adaptation of Russia’s Population: Results and Future Trends of the Historical Research. The paper reviews Russian historiography devoted to the problem of social adaptation of the country’s population, proves the importance of studying the people’s adaptation to various political systems and regimes of the Russian state, especially in the modern period. Vivdych, M.A. The Investigations of Railroading in the Russian Empire and the Project of the Trans-Siberian Railway. The article examines the results of activities of the Commission on Railways Investigation and of the Imperial Russian technical society’s Commission, which proved the need for the state supervision over the railroading. As a result the construction costs of railroads decreased, while the technical and operating indices and profitability increased. The author shows the role of the M.Gersevanov’s Commission and of the Imperial Russian technical society in the positive answer to the «railway question in Siberia». Methods of circulation of printed production in the rural areas of Western Siberia at the late XIX – early XX centuries. The paper considers the basic methods of books’ circulation. Special attention is given to book trade, establishing of libraries and free distribution of books. The article shows links between the initiators of books’ distribution and their methods of circulation of printed production. Polish Diaspora in West Siberian cities (1890– The article focuses on the history of formation and development of the Polish Diaspora in Siberian cities. It considers such problems as social structure of the West Siberian Polish Diaspora, Polish investment in the region’s development. The author draws a conclusion that the Polish population contributed considerable investment in the development of Siberian industry and business. Participation of the Polish Diaspora in Siberian administrative bodies was also significant. Key words: Polish population in cities, civil servants, specialists, labor. Ugrovatov, A.P. Land Commissions in Siberia in the 1920s. The paper deals with history of special administrative bodies – land commissions – in Siberia. After the Revolution of 1917 the process of land redistribution between peasant households and peasant communities led to numerous conflicts which were solved by the land commissions. In fact the commissions acted as land tribunals. The author analyzes the land commissions’ structure, competence and organization of their work, discusses their role in redistribution of land between peasants in favor of the poor and the «serednyaks». Realization of ideas of the regionalization of the science in activity of the Far-Eastern Regional Scientificresearch Institute (1923–1931). The aim of the article is to show the influence of the ideas of the Siberian Research Institute on the science development in the Far East of Russia – by the example of founding and functioning of the Far Eastern Regional Scientific-Research Institute in Vladivostok. Koroleva, E.V. «Writing-books» of Uljana Mihailovna Argokova from the Collection of the State Memorial-Estate named after N.K. and H.I. Roerich. The article considers a complex source of personal origin – «writing-books» with notes of the veteran of work Uljana Mihailovna Argokova. The main attention is given to the autobiography «Humdrum of life» and the poem about the years of war (1941–1945), which are compared with an audio record of U.M. Vlasovites and White Emigrés in Concentration Camps in Kemerovo Oblast. For the first time in historiography the article analyzes number, ethnic composition and utilization of labor resources of Vlasovites and white emigres as a separate category of the special contingent in the Kemerovo region. Dynamics, size and placement of the urban population of the Krasnoyarsk territory in the 1960s. The paper discusses the complex issues of urban population development in the Krasnoyarsk region – one of the biggest regions in size and economic potential. It examines statistical and demographic indicators of population, its natural and mechanical movement, placement in deiffrenet types of settlement. Population Size and Territorial Allocation in the Novosibirsk Region in 1989–2002. The article considers demographic consequences of the systemic crisis in the Novosibirsk region in the 1990s; shows how the population size changed in the whole region and in each of its districts; describes factors that influenced the process dynamics. The article analyzes population’s territorial allocation and population changes both in the Novosibirsk region and in separate economic zones taking into account the previous stage of demographic development. Key words: population size, economic zones, reforms. Voronina, T.A. Traditional Forms of Leisure Activities of the Siberian Peasants during Fasts (19th century – beginning of the 20th century). The article is devoted to the traditional forms of leisure and recreational activities of the Siberian peasants in the XIX – early XX century during fasts. The rural society’s moral rules concerning human behavior during fasts required abstinence from different naughty games and recreational activities. Both old and middle generations and youth obeyed these rules. Old generation gave vivid examples of morality. Leisure and recreational activities of the peasants were determined by the traditional calendar where working days alternated with holidays. Автор представляет: – заверенную рецензию доктора или кандидата наук по специальности; – статью в файле в формате Microsoft Word (êðîìå Word-2007) (ôàéëû с расширением doc или rtf); – идентичный текст в печатном виде; – краткую аннотацию (700–850 знаков с пробелами) на русском и английском языках, которая должна включать: фамилию автора, название, цель статьи, характеристику проблемного поля, перечень основных проблем, затронутых в статье, основные научные результаты, ключевые слова (не более 10); Титул статьи должен содержать фамилию, имя, отчество, должность, ученую степень, место работы, служебный адрес, электронную почту, индекс УДК.
