АннотацияThe COVID- 19 outbreak has exacerbated pre- existing vulnerabilities in West Africa’s food systems. This review examines peer- reviewed literature to analyze how the pandemic affected agriculture, food distribution, and consumption across West African nations. The pandemic compromised food security across all dimensions, most notably by restricting food access due to price increases. Women- headed households and rural farming communities were disproportionately affected by these shortages. Sustainability research has primarily focused on social and economic elements, with limited attention to climate and governance issues. Most government responses consisted of emergency social protection measures that faced significant implementation challenges. The findings highlight the need for research in underrepresented nations and demonstrate how evidencebased approaches can make regional measures more resilient to future crises
