АннотацияUrban archaeology has become the actual phenomenon in modern scientiёc researches as it forms unique knowledge about early and preliterate history of the cities. The article describes the features and methods of archaeological research in the territory of the cities. Also it shows the differences between the ёeld of archaeology and archaeological research in the urban environment. The main differences are: the research method is determined by the layout of the city, funding from businesses, research focuses on promotion of the study of objects. Methods of urban archaeology are divided into two groups: the archaeological work and museumiёcation. There are the examples of museumiёcated archaeological sites in the cities of foreign countries, and in various cities in the regions of Russia.
